Position: Account Manager

Reports To: Senior Vice President for Client Services


This position as CJRW Account Manager requires at least three years of marketing/public relations/advertising agency experience or related experience in a corporate communications environment. The successful applicant will provide project management, administration and strategical support for major advertising and marketing campaigns. Daily contact with clients is an essential part of the job for the account executive and, as such, offering strategic and forward-thinking ideas is essential to the productive communication process. A very confident and competent attitude is necessary to instill trust in the agency/client relationship. Among the necessary requirements is creating strategic plans for clients and offering supporting skills, such as social media strategy and execution, writing/editing, media relations and event management. The account executive will conduct the functions below, as well as additional projects upon request.


• Collaborate with other agency disciplines on behalf of the client
• Proactive strategic leadership
• Attend client meetings and take action on requested deliverables
• Client project management
• Prepare documents for presentation to client
• Write and edit presentations, marketing plans, news releases, reports, etc.
• Anticipate client communication challenges and develop recommendations
• Develop and implement public relations and marketing plans
• Execute tasks associated with plans
• Provide analysis of earned media coverage and competitive trends
• Develop and implement social and digital media strategies
• Manage content for client social media accounts
• Manage and work key events, including planning logistics, setting up and execution
• Research marketing trends and provide competitive analysis
• Manage grassroots programs
• Manage creative campaigns
• Review and approve billings/invoices
• Monitor and manage budgets

Job Specifications/Qualifications

• Prefer a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or marketing
• At least three years of experience
• Ability to work as an authoritative figure in a busy team
• Demonstrated writing ability
• Ability to organize information into various written formats
• Ability to manage multiple projects and activities
• Reliable, deadline and detail oriented • Ability to effectively organize work, establish and maintain schedules
• Significant experience in professional client relationship management
• A solid background in advertising or marketing
• The ability to plan and strategize at a senior level
• A persuasive and confident approach to creative projects
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Keen attention to detail and budgetary restraints
• Full awareness of creative processes and techniques – including digital platforms
• Willingness to note relevant trends and develop ideas
• IT literate
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or Keynote
